Hi all, those of you that use a obd2 in your 04 xt’s could you tell me exactly what model sender you bought to plug in? I’ve tried 3 different units and none will join all of which have the elm software, I’m trying to link to iPhone/iPad using Fusion app.
Cheers
S

Were they WiFi or Bluetooth? Apple's BT stack doesn't play nicely with most if not all BT OBD dongles. The cheapy WiFi ones like https://goo.gl/Acwy6D work fine on my 07X (and a relly's 05 Astra POS) with an iPhone.

The below quote is from this post, don't know if it will help but it might in some small way:

These are the OBD2 devices I have tried with the Joying Head Unit:

Android OBD2 OBDII Code Reader Scan Tool Bluetooth Adapter Scanner Torque I5
Once I nailed the initial Bluetooth connection and Torque setup processes this one has proved the most consistent in that it connects to the Torque app every time, whether I am restarting the app from scratch or if I have left Torque running the night before and Torque auto starts when I turn on the ignition. I’m using this one at the moment, have done for a couple of weeks now and no complaints at all. It has the On/Off button but the power draw is negligible as far as I can tell so I just leave it running when I get out of the car.

OBDII OBD2 ELM327 Interface WiFi Wireless Diagnostic Scanner For Apple iPhone E6
This was the easiest initial setup, more straightforward than the Bluetooth. I’ve used this consistently for the last several months but probably a few times each week I’d get in the car and the thing wouldn’t connect. I used an OBD2 extension cable with this one so I could stuff it up out of the way under the dash because it sticks down a bit too far if plugged directly into the OBD2 port. I did have a problem where my battery was dying a few months back and I would lose my saved settings on the head unit, pretty sure it was due to the voltage dropping too low when starting the engine. A new battery has fixed all those issues – it seemed to be the original battery from the markings on it so it did well being a December 2011 vehicle.

Best ELM327 OBD2 II Bluetooth Auto Car OBD2 Diagnostic Interface Scanner Tool I5 (“Best” is their description)
Despite my best (see what I did there?) attempts the Joying wouldn’t connect to this, it would see it but wouldn’t link. Probably just the luck of the draw as it has lots of good reviews on the interwebs. My Galaxy S4 phone and Galaxy Tab would connect but the Joying refused.
