I have everything from the manual sti dash, the brake calipers, sti intercooler hosing, sti seats, body kit. you name it, i have it on the car..

But i dont have my japanese vin, the number out of 800 is missing and i dont have the compass pack that might have come standard...

I don't need my JDM vin to register my car since it has a new zealand vin plate on it instead but because of this my car is worthless because i cannot trace the cars history or more importantly, prove that it is an STI model (not too concerned about #/800). I am also pissed beyond belief that there is no vin stamping on the car, for all i know the car has been stolen from japan!

Hello and welcome. Vin plate should be on passenger front strut tower. There is also a build date panel at the bottom of the drivers side b pillar. Picks of interior and the like may help.
Its a manual i assume?

Vin should be stamped on the firewall, drivers side. If its not there, what is there? Can you take a photo?

And if anyone has a copy of JDM fast2, it may shed some light on what the vin relates to

Should be just SF5-xxxxxx

hey, can you draw a diagram of where specifically on the drivers side firewall it is?

also, the rivets were drilled out of the the strut plate and when you mention the vin in the drivers side b pillar. is this visible when you open the drivers door? i dont see anything.

The Japanese VIN won't tell you what build number your car is. When you find it, you'd probably have to contact Subaru Japan and see if they can use the VIN number to tell you. AFAIK the only place the build number is put on these is the build plate in the center console.
