Hi guys,

Been driving my foz for almost a month now and I finally got some good photo's to share with you all, I really wanted to settle with a black foz, but the condition of this was too difficult to pass by. First time trying the subie life and loving it!

I have recently done a front grill change to the OEM with the help of some direction/suggestion from other OzFoz members here.

19/9/2018
Mods so far:
2014 STi Exhaust Tips
Short Throw gear Shifter
GFB BOV
Lowered 1in with shocks
Changed interior lights and back lights to light blue (couldn't remember the specific)
Rhino Roof Racks (not installed)

Considerations:
- Window shield visors
- Spoiler change
- Upgrade speakers for sure! May look into changing screen
- Swaybars front and rear, whiteline, 22mm ?
- Flash tune then later VF52 upgrade alongside supporting mods,

Hey guys, So I've decided to put on hold the turbo upgrade and instead I am looking for suggestions and directions to do a flash tune in NSW? I see a lot of people go to Throttle but what have you used in past? Does it matter who I go to?
Question, would this impact anything if I decide to do a dyno tune later on?

Also, if anyone can suggest to buy front and rear sways - that will be nice too!

Throttlehappy is good.

That option aside, your main considerations are probably:-

(a) is the tune locked by the selected tuner (eg watch out for Ecutek tune vendors in particular);

(b) will they break your engine? (unlikely if reputable); and

(c) cost.

It makes economic sense to stick with one tuner if possible because the revisits (eg to account for more mods) are cheap once they do their base tune. Having said that, Matt @ Throttlehappy was fine working with my car, which had previously been dyno tuned elsewhere (even unlocking the prior tune).

Road tunes are fine compared to dyno tunes because the car is knock-limited anyway (especially on petrol).

Dyno-only tunes can end up a bit rich, so a quality road tune has a lot going for it.

Where in Sydney are you located as this may help decide if you want to go to a tuner locally. As you said, TH can assist with either a remote tune or road tune. Having either of these does not stop you getting a dyno tune later. It just means added cost.

I suggest you start with a rear sway bar and add a front one later if you feel the need. Whiteline 20mm or 22mm adjustable are popular options. A cheap option is a 19mm STi sway bar.

Hi all,

Thought I’d post an update for my foz since my consideration of mods.

I have recently dyno tuned my foz as preferred feedback of choice from a number of people here and friendS on Facebook. Results were 150kw after dyno on td04. It’s a little bump up from standard which ranges from 140kw. Pics potentially come soon.

Installed 3 port boost solenoid

Latest on the car i was thinking I’d keep it at the simple dyno tune as resulted but i never thought the turbo mod bug would ever cross my path...

Over the weekend I managed to scope up modifications for the vf52 and supporting mods and booked an appointment with my tuner who previously did my dyno.

Results are yet to come, but nothing special as for the other builds who have done this before.

List as follows:
- PW Verticooler
- PW CAI
- Xforce TBE w/ hi-flow
- Mishimoto Radiator
- VF52 turbocharger

Quick question, is there anything else i would need to consider as part of this upgrade with the above items? Is there anything i can add on in drivers cabin, boost gauges etc.

Thanks!

Some nice mods planned. It should get you to about 180-200.

You could do a silicon turbo inlet hose. They help spool therefore brings in boost a little earlier.

The CAI won't add to performance with those mods so you could save some $$$ and not do it.

Thanks for the reply JonP.

Would I also need to include the SFB whilst looking into getting the silicon turbo inlet hose?
I found a combo bundle for sale on a website with both.

Preferably yes... Make sure they are good quality reinforced silicone like a Perrin or PSR
