Back in Oct 17, A young Red-P plater turned in front of me on the Hume Hwy @ Bankstown, from what I could tell, she was playing follow the leader as another car turned before her, I had nowhere to go, ended up T-boning her car, hitting her front wheel at about 40-50km. No injuries thank goodness. I'll let the pictures doing the talking.

Miraculously about 10mins after the accident, my brother and his friends were driving past.

The Towie was a mate of one of my mates so he was kind enough to let me empty out the whole car, including stereo and let me into the holding yard the next day to take off anything I wanted since he knew NRMA would try to screw me. So off came everything salvageable, including all the rare JDM parts, unfortunately I couldn't get the bonnet open, so couldn't swap the aftermarket parts to stock. I did manage to get the strut bar out with great difficulty.

Insurance (IAG) was another drama but long story short, after a month of back and forth and looking for a SH XT or CX5 Diesel, a 2012 S-Edition popped up on here with approx. 99500kms for a great price which had pretty much all the mods I was looking at doing myself.

A small list of mods that were already done at the time of purchase:
STI front lip
STI flexible tower brace
3 Point Whiteline RSB (unsure of size) with support braces
Tein H-Tech Lowering Springs
XForce TBE with stock mufflers
PSR Silicone intake & SFB
RE003 225/50/17
OEM Towbar
Thule Roof Racks
MSR tune approx. 178wkw

Day of purchase

After owning it for 4 months, I'm quite enjoying the comfort and smoothness with added punch when needed.

It a totally different beast to my bumpy old SG, So much smoother and easier to drive or it could be me just getting old

GR/GV Exhaust finishers

Mr SAV-84C,
Sad beginning story but happy ending.

You have to happy to get access to the insurance holding yard.

That bonnet would have a battle on it's hands if there were goodies under there!

I was going chastise you for not taking your wheels off the SG.

Nice white SH, nothing like it!

How do you like the 7” Carjoying Android Headunit?

Cheers Al

There was plenty of goodies under there... Check out the build viewtopic.php?t=27290

If my life wasnt so busy I would have bought it back and parted it out...

I was a bit hesitant about the wheels on the SH at first but theyve grown on me and are different to the rest of the crowd. Rare JDM goodness!!!

The headunit is one of the older models (3/4 yrs old now), its a bit slow on startup (boot up time = timer before taking off) but does the job for the $280. I might do a system root on it to see if runs better.

Manage to score a Kicker Hideaway off Gumtree for $130 minus half the wiring but this was no concern as my brother is a sparky and had all the required goodies to wire it up minus the LOC.

Quick trip to JB HiFi to get a Kicker KISL 2ch. Speaker-RCA Converter

Wasnt my first sub install so it only took about 1.5hrs to get it all done... Rather than removing the OEM sub, I installed installed it under the drivers side.

I didnt take any photos of the install but its pretty self explanatory.

Removed the centre console - Soldered extra wiring to the amp control wire and the RCA Converter to the wiring connector and ran both along the passenger side of the transmission tunnel up to the back of the headunit.

For the power cable I ran a double insulated 10g cable from the battery hidden behind the TMIC going into the clutch pedal rubber grommet then down the drivers side transmission tunnel under the carpet and up through the existing cutout and soldered it to the wiring connector.

The ground cable from the connector was long enough to put a ring connector on it and just mounted it to the handbrake bracket.

For a 8" Sub, it packs some punch. For a total of $160 definitely cannot complain!

Nice ride mate, love my S-Edition. Ive been looking for a set of liberty calipers and rotors for a while now, did the front and back fit straight on? Original brake lines? Is the mod worth it?

If your looking for anything like pods brand new check out:

https://www.japanparts.com/

Ive bought heaps of stuff off them over the years.
