Cool.

What are your instructions about running-in driving style?

Bits & pieces i've read about it include:-

- deliberately varying the revs & load for n kilometers

- not cruising at a set engine speed

- giving the engine enough throttle so that the rings can wear in with some realistic cylinder pressure.

EDIT

Noting that most wear-in instructions are aimed at handling the ring-to-bore AND the cams (sometimes conflicting goals), presumably they should be read with a grain of salt given that cam wear-in isn't your concern at the moment.

I've been asked to keep it below 3k rpm for 1500-2000kms.
Load it up and not keep a consistent rpm for too long.
Tell you what, my old engine must have been tired, feels so much tighter and has been hard to hold myself back from opening it up.

Then back in for a final tune and get the power figures from the mainline.

I only do about 500km a month so it would be a very long 3-4 months for me :)

I'll be making sure I take the extra long way to/from work for the next 3 weeks.
Wishing I hadn't moved closer to work now...I would do 50km a day easily...now it's 5km each way...

Perhaps stay away from E85 until your driving arrangements change. With that commute you won't be getting the sump oil hot enough to boil off the fuel blow-by.

My closest e85 pump os 70+ kms away. Dont see it coming here anytime soon either :(
But ifnit does, I'll prob have moved in our own place (over renting I tells you) and be again 20+ kms away from work.

Well I've had the car back 2 weeks and been running it in, only another 400kms to go.
But this morning the Clutch Master Cylinder decided to piss fluid all over my driveway.... :/

Does your ex-wife have a voodoo doll of your car or something?

Yeah hopefully not a long fix. Mechs have a bit on atm, so they will try and squeeze it in in the next day or 2.

I thought I'd left all previous relationship on good terms, maybe not....
Looks like I'll be keeping this foz for 12+ years now...lol

Other news, removing tow bar in preparation of a bodykit kingdom lip kit.
Just need to wait for someone to bump the foz so I can get most of it done under their insurance lol
