I went back to the tuner last night as he finished adjusting the tune to accommodate the actuator.

It was raining last night on the way up to the tuner, but luckily it stopped raining and the road was relatively dry where we did the road tune. Then it rained as soon as we finished! :D

It's only the first revision but man, it was so much quicker than the TD04. A bit more lag obviously but I actually didn't think it was that bad.. boost starts at 2800rev/m so street and track wise, I reckon it's good (to me and it may differ to other people). Tuner said he was aiming for about 215kW at the wheels; target peak boost is 19PSI.

It feels good as it has been a long time coming and all the effort I put in has paid off! :D

Now, the only mod I've got lying around are the gauges... yes, I still haven't installed them yet! I also need to clean the other VF52 and sell it.

Thanks for looking!

Cheers, Pete.

Glad you are happy with the first revision of the tune. Nice job with the mods.

From having the TD04 tuned, yes there was a difference, but then installing the VF46 and tune what a big difference. You can actually feel it pulling quite nicely. So i could imagine with your VF52 and your excitement especially if you achieve 215atw on 19psi peak boost.

Yeah, the tuned TD04 and supporting mods is about 30-35kW over stock tune. I did like it as it was quick and punchy; it just didn't have the top end on the track. VF46 was what I was planning but then VF52's came up for sale haha. VF46 would still be good for someone that wants a bit more power and still have little lag; a good all rounder I reckon.

Hi all,

Just a quick update, I have attached the "rough" virtual dynos of the TD04 + supporting mods ("Stage 2") tune (I don't think I ever uploaded it) and the "rough" virtual dynos of the VF52 1st revision ("Stage 3") tune to compare. As these are virtual tunes, I know it is only rough and is indicative of what it is until I get it on an actual dyno (Dyno Day anyone? :D).

The last bit on the power curve is wrong and probably due to a bump in the road when I doing the 3rd gear pull. I never confirmed this on an actual dyno but I assumed it was about 170kW mark.

Power delivery is quite smooth, which corresponds to the virtual dyno. Once again, I will get it on an actual dyno once the tune has been finalised. It would be good to compare it to the stock dyno run of 125kW/260Nm

As some of you may know, I'm going to give racing a bit of a break, although it would be awesome to drive it on track now! I will go back maybe in a year or so. In the mean time, I will just enjoy it. :D

Thanks for looking,

Cheers, Pete.

She is booked in for a dyno day on the 8th of July! So I'll see what the new turbo is doing. :D
