Nope! Part out time.

:)

I impulse bought an MX5 (NA 1.8), so kinda lost interest in the Foz for awhile. I'll get back at it soon, and start getting bits off to sell.

So, a weird thing happened... A couple weeks ago I got a PM from itsjasper saying simply "liberty 6 speed, just saying". Then yesterday I'm cruising along in my '99 Mirage hating life, and happened across a really nice SG, and it got me thinking I miss my Foz.

So, I've decided to come back to the fold.

Unfortunately, it's still beached in the drive way with a busted gearbox. And I was mid part out for a while there. So, there's some work to do.

So, I think i'll need to slowly collect some parts to get it back driving. And do a 6 speed swap. I'll have to consult the FAQ, cause I'd like to keep my Brembos up front, and WRX 2 pots out back, and do an R180 along with it.

My wifes Calais will get traded eventually on a car more suited to towing a car trailer, cause I've still got the MX5 I mention above that I use for track days, and recently grabbed an RX8 with a blown motor for cheap to also use as an unregistered track car. Motor is in the process of coming apart when time allows, and I'll be rebuilding it when I know what internals are required. There's lots of coolant and oil pouring out of the rear rotor housing, which ain't normal!

Anyway, back at it!

Mx5 track car- I tracked my old mx5 a bit. Great little thing that required little work to survive track days. They just hang on in the corners forever. Bit boaring at Qr but lots of fun on tight tracks.

Rx8 would be interesting- would like to have a drive of one, one day. Could almost squeeze the family in one but the foz is doing a good job as the family wagon

Welcome back. 6 speed FTW. interesting about the RX8. I was looking over an R100 today that my mate Johnny is fixing the body on. We tried talking about rotary engines but failed, wished you were there to laugh at our feeble understanding

Haha!!

I'll let you know when we're about to pull the motor apart and if you're free you can drop around for a look.

At the moment we're completely stuck on the front pulley bolt. We've used a propane torch and tried two 3/4" 1000ft/lb impact wrenches and she still hasn't let go!! Next is Oxy/Ace and either the same impact, or some lllooonnngggggg breaker bars.

Yes I would like to watch you pull it apart. let me know.
I have this amazing penetrating oil that might help with the stuck bolt. If you dab some of it on each day for a week and it should creep in. Let me know if you want to try it, or Google "Corrosion X". It was designed for the US Military.
