When you say "plug and play"...

(a) is the temp needle sending information already in the forester side of the plug and gets the temp needle to work no worries with no modification?

(b) for a 4-speed auto forester, does the "which gear am I in?" "In which gear am I?" digital display near the odometer work automatically for the WRX cluster? Do you need to seek out an auto WRX donor car in particular for that to work?

cheers.

Others who have done the swap say temp gauge works fine. I’ll plug it into the wifes car to double check.
Yes, I believe you’ll need an Auto cluster (which is apparently rather hard to find)

yep need the auto cluster and also need the auto clock for "kilometreage" (L/100ks)

The clock part works when you swap the RS cluster, I will confirm tonight if its the same for WRX.
STI clusters are for... wait for it.. STI’s. I know I know its a crazy thing to say. But there are a few parts in a sti that the XT/WRX does not have.

And can now confirm the G3 WRX cluster is truly plug’n’play. Everything works including the interior center display (unlike the cheap STI cluster).
Just remember they are auto/manual dependent. In the photo I have connected the manual cluster to my wifes auto SH and it does not display which gear it is in.

Great car Tobyo, I will be interested in seeing how your Blouch 1.5XT-R spools with the PSR UEL Headers. My setup looks to be pretty similar to yours but I went with ELH. Are you getting them ceramic coated?
I will keep on eye on how you go swapping out the instrument pod and seats, I have been wanting to do the same for ages.

Probably with NASA "orbital re-entry specification" unobtainium coating, followed by custom-forged inconel heat shields

Dammit Yowie. I discussed that coating cocktail in complete confidentiality, you’ll be hearing from my solicitor next week.
I spoke with the most renouned Subaru tuner in the Southern Hemisphere and he said there are virtually no gains in using ELH on low hp builds. Even if there was a .5kw gain, I would never sacrifice the boxer burble.
The seats have the same rails so are a direct bolt in and I installed the cluster yesterday (temporarily) and everything works.
I got my headers Ceramic coated, but then took a sandblaster to them as I will go a thicker coating done by HPC. I also needed to weld standoffs to the pipe for my heat shielding which will cover the headers, up pipe and down pipe.
My build is virtually identical to a friends WRX which made 270kw on e85.
