Grumble grumble
For as long as I’ve owned the SH it has had a sloppy clutch pedal. I just assumed thats how they were. After testing Pete’s clutch the other night I realized mine was #%*k£d. It has 37mm of travel before the master cylinder actuator comes in contact.
And to make things more anoying it cant be dissembled in the car. Have to unbolt the master cylinder and slide the whole lot out. Two seconds on google shows this is a rather common issue world wide.
No point in replacing it with another oem one as it will most likely happen even faster next time with the HD clutch. Might just have to make up new parts using a bearing (not a bush).

Good job in finding the item to fix your sloppy clutch. You da man for custom parts, so should be a piece of cake for you! Me, some gaffa tape and a zip tie would do the job :)

Watch this space. It will be a Garrett-inspired dual roller bearing setup with oil and water lines to & from it.

Is it the same as earlier generations? Without walking out to the garage, it looks pretty similar. I have a few spare clutch pedal assemblies here.

Is it just the clevis thats poo-poo'd? Or is the pedal also had it?

A quick google shows this was restricted to 08-14 (based on American models). The clevis, pin and clutch pedal are all buggered. Will rummage through the bearing drawers as soon as I get to work and then machine everything up based on the bearing diameters.

Can you not press together a set of ten or so ball bearing assemblies of diminishing size (like Russian dolls) for absolute minimum friction?

Those look like steel bearings. I am dissapoint! I would expect SiC (silicon carbide) bearings from you Toby.

Hey, it’s what I found in the box of bearings. Beggers can’t be choosers, though that is a valid point. I might pen a letter expressing my disappointment to the workshop manager. Sadly this will be a rush job as I have to drive next week. Usually a job like this would take me about 3-4 months.
