Redesigned the catch can bracket so it was a little more appeasing to my quality control. And not to mention.. more symmetry :ok:

Currently working on the up-pipe heat shielding and found the up-pipe angle was 32.86deg (only have my dimension tool set to two decimal places, of course I would have preferred three decimal places).
Seeing a 3” 30deg mandrel bend was the closest I could source, I cut a tiny slither out of it and had it welded back together by Darren at Trikfab this afternoon. He’s done all the welding to date on this little (over kill) project and couldn’t recommend him more highly enough. :ok:

The weld in the 1st pic looks very nice and consistent. But how do you live with that discoloration from the AC cleaning action around the weld?

Also surpised you measure angles in decimals and not minute/seconds. 3 decimal places is only 1/1000th of a degree. A second of angle is 1/3600th of a degree.

Did you use the cosine rule? Easiest way to work out an unknown angle :D

Got the important parts to start the Arduino build for the water spray. The touch screen will be flush mounted under the HVAC controls with a custom carbon fibre panel. Like everything else, will no doubt take some time as I have zilch experience with programming, but lucky to work in a place surrounded with people who do it for a living.

Started stripping down the four liberty calipers for powder coating. The fronts originally looked horrid (were a ghastly dirty maroon colour which I had media blasted back to bare metal) and I seriously doubted the amount of “claimed” kilometers, but the seals and pistons insided looked mint. The rears have less than 10,000kms so its a shame to have to put a new seal kit through them.

Had been getting to work an hour early each day and build a platform to be able to cut the up pipe heat shielding in half length ways. Hot glued the pipe to the ribbing and used a very thin slitting saw to minimise loss of material.
Worked a treat and came up nicely.

What the final thing will look like.

Cheers. Its becoming a fine line between attention to detail or falling down the slippery slope of OCD
