Just finished designing and drawing up the touch screen controller for the Arduino.
So now it will monitor PSI, intake and outlet intercooler temps, run the water spray pump, control the audible shift alarm and turn on/off the inspection port lighting.

Thats the actual screen image. The 5” touch screen is 800x480 pixel so a nice crisp display

I thought colour coding my number plate surrounds was a win but compared to your mods - I feel inadequate :)

Nice work mate.

Get an 8" touch screen and you'll be right

Though by the time I finish this build, the car will be on historic plates and the last barrel of crude oil will be on display in a museum.
Initially I bought a 4.3” TFT Screen as it fitted perfectly in the space under the HVAC controller, though I didn’t realize how terrible 480x272 pixels looked (visualize Mine Craft). The 5” was the smallest 800x480 we could find in the Nextion screen series.

Is the 5" being mounted in (or about) the same space under the HVAC controls?

How is the fit/look etc? Bracket details will be interesting to see in due course.

(I have a small UHF radio in that space now, but am looking to put two round temp gauges in there also using an off-the-shelf right-angle steel dual gauge-mount plate. WHile that is probably sorted conceptually, any bracketing ideas in that area are currently of interest).

It fits. But I wanted more space to install the buttons for other machines that go “bing”. I might have to do some delicate surgery with a cold chisel to re shape the 12v outlet to make some room

Looks good.

This is probably below your level of engineering, but I bought this simple right-angle drill attachment from Bunnings on the weekend [ https://www.bunnings.com.au/p-n-heavy-d ... t_p6320592 ] with the intention of using it to drill mounting holes in the ceiling of that cubby area without to much yoga or pulling the interior of the car apart.

[Handy hint - unscrew the alloy end cap and remove the retaining spring if you ever want to get your hex-ended drill bits back without a vice, a long pry-bar and general destructive violence. Ask me how i know...]
