Great videos once again. That rally track looks a fair bit tighter (in terms of tyre walls etc) than the Ipswich equivalent.

Thanks! Ah okay, I'm not sure about other tracks. But it felt really tight when you're going foot flat on the floor into a corner and he says "keep going!"

 I don't know to take that to be honest... I'm sure there are many out there better than me haha.

I traded in my excess oil lines and bought an Aeroflow 16 row oil cooler. As discussed previously, I'm thinking of installing this cooler behind the grill with some of (my) custom mounting brackets, probably towards one side and possibly relocating the hella horns to the other side of the grill. I'm thinking about mounting the cooler with the ports facing down, probably a bit better/cleaner look.

I just need to get the Mocal thermostatic sandwich plate with a spacer and a longer centre bolt/adapter, and two -10AN oil lines.

Thanks for looking,

Don't mount a fluid cooler with the ports facing down, the fluid will take the path of least resistance -- your 16 row cooler becomes a 1.5 row cooler.

5 bar of oil pressure will sort that out.

That doesnt make any sense :dontknow: There is no way the volume of oil the engine will consume, will be able to fit through 1.5 rows of that oil cooler. Thats like trying to push a golf ball through a garden hose.

HKS put those instructions in their Subaru oil cooler kit

I think Andrew meant to say “in the event of a catastrophic oil pump failure, the oil will take the path of least resistance”.. :ok:

Edit* I shall now look at any HKS products with a lot of concern on where they sourced their science.

1 thing that could be a potential issue with having the fittings face down is the possibility of the oil draining out over night. You could potentially have a big air lock to pass every time you cold start the car, which might mean a few extra seconds of no oil supply to the bearings.

If the oil does drain back, Having the fitting face up might keep the core full of oil at least.
