One big advantage of coilovers, is that they're rebuildable. I believe Cusco gear is good, but not rebuildable in Australia (from what I've been told).

For about the same cost, it's supreme lunacy not to get MCAs!! :ok:

Edit: $50 more ...

Fitted the Whiteline 20mm rear sway bar BSR49 to my 15 FXT on the weekend.

Fitment comments: with the oem XT exhaust in place I could not get the new thicker sway bar to fit around the brackets. Had to drop the mid section of the exhaust which added a bit of time and complexity, especially doing it by myself. But once the exhaust was out of the way it fit up easily.

Need a 5mm allen key and either a ring spanner or open ended socket for disconnecting the end links.

I have noticed the following since fitting the sway bar:
- slightly heavier less responsive steering (although i think it was artificially light before)
- more planted around corners, less steering corrections required.
- less understeer, more balanced
- tighter rear end but havent noticed any extra roughness from bumps. I think it has just reduced the side to side movement but not the bump stiffness.

Overall very happy with the change and looking forward to testing it out further. Thanks for the great thread and advice! I knew the handling was not right from the factory but did not want to spend or change much.

Do you do any off road driving? I read and am told that fitting a stiffer rear bar will degrade off road performance. I really only do beach work. If you do any off road work I'd be interested to hear if the thicker rear bar causes any noticeable negative effect on off road performance.

If anyone else has fitted a thicker rear bar/and or strut brace and can comment from experience on the effect on off road driving I'd be interested to hear your thoughts. I'd like to firm up the handling on road but don't want to lose out on the Forester's off road capability.

Thanks

What version of MCA suspension would be most suitable for street application?
