grease teh bushes, rub back the paint where the bushes touch so it's matte

Danoz, I’m going to give you different advise. :) If you got the 19mm WRX STI rear bar (p/n 20451FG020) with the rubber bushes (p/n 20464FG020) you don’t need to grease them (the bushes should be marked 18mm on one side of the bushes). I haven’t greased the 19mm STI WRX bar or matching rubber bushes I’ve had on both XTs since 2010 & haven’t experienced any noises or abnormal wear.

However, if you don't have the rubber bushes then I would grease them.

+1 as subXT.

Rubber bushes don't need grease. In fact certain grease will deteriorate them much quicker. Stock SJ XT I think have 15mm rubber bushes. I had to buy OEM STi 18mm bushes when I installed 19mm STi RSB.

Thanks guys. I do have the bar you mentioned Sub. And I did get those 18mm rubber bushes to go with. Ok, no grease on rubber bushes and lots of penetrene on those rusty bolts.
