Hi All
I have recently purchased a 99 GT Forester which has 180 thou k’s on the clock
The Vis coupling in the gearbox is on it’s way out, so I’ve started the process to fit a reconditioned item, courtesy of CorgiWerx and advice gleaned from this forum. There is a check engine light that comes on but then clears after a while… needs the valve cover gaskets replaced and maybe the water pump.
It has a few other little issues that will need addressed, some sooner than others, and I look forward to sharing them, getting ideas and enjoy sorting them out.

Nice mate , low ks for a 99GT. When was a timing belt kit done last? If its due,I would do that and the water pump at the same time.
My son has a 98GT he is doing up.

Thanks for the welcome
Good idea to do the timing belt MTBTRAIL, I’m planning to pull the motor out for ease of access to the areas in need of attention, so I will replace them while it’s out. I also want to replace the heater and radiator hoses as they haven’t been looked at for years… and any other parts that will add to its reliability.

G'day and welcome to the forum :)

Your new ride looks very clean and the low kays is excellent!

I have a 2002 (SF5) Foz GT and loving it.

Hi PROVOST, your MY02 is looking good, nice pic. I am wondering about cruise control availability. Is that an option, does your model have it?
