NES Pi arrived yesterday, very impressed with the quality so far.

Still waiting for the SNES mini to arrive.....maybe tomorrow!

The NESPi is a nice piece of kit. Kids play it a lot.

I've just had wife approval to build a console entertainment unit!
Coming soon to our family room...
- 4x2 cube unit with hidden wiring and drawers for all the games and controllers
- 8 or 9 consoles.
- 8way AV switch
- bluray, etc.

Has anyone else got a SNES mini? Collected mine yesterday....it looks cool and is easy to use but I'm undecided about whether to keep it or not seeing as the retropie does the same plus a whole lot more.
It looks good next to the nes-pi though!

What is your experience with Google Home? Worth it? Quality of speaker? Would you go with something else?

Yeah, got one here. Biggest issue I had was I was using on a monitor with HDMI input that doesn't have speakers, so was missing audio. Also the d-pad is brutal on the fingers!

I think it’s worth it, but I have it coupled with some home automation stuff, so I can control it via voice commands.
I like that they’ve just announced some different options, one being a better speaker unit, for those after better sound, and also a cheaper option, for those maybe wanting to extend the system.
The speaker on the current offering is reasonable, but not audiophile quality.
I guess it comes down to whether it ticks all the boxes for you or not with what you want out of it.

Might have a longer go on Street Fighter tonight to see how it is, always a good test!
Maybe you can get something that splits the audio from the HDMI, I had one in the UK for optical audio out, I think it had red/white too though

It’s all good. I forgot my PC monitor has PIP so I hooked it up to that. Gaming whilst working - win!

Connected up via 10GbE, running Plex, DNS and recording video from 5 security cameras. CPU not breaking a sweat, sweet unit

So far have been able to transfer to it at ~750MBps and transfer from it at ~450MBps. Still trying to work out why theres a difference, I though read speed would have been faster than write. Not complaining though
