Note the bike at the bottom of the rubble.

I blame the cyclist who was clearly hogging the road as usual area next to the trolley return and leaving the blameless Subaru driver with few options.

:P

I blame old people. They drive fine until starttled, at which point they stomp the accelerator instead of the brake. Note the confused looking silver haired gentleman in the 3rd picture.

Been a victim of old person auto mayhem myself. A grandma put a mazda 6 on its lid and punch through a brick wall aftershe collided with the rear of my work vehicle. It was a 50kmh industrial area, yet somehow she ended up another 150m down the road from the initial incedent, travelling fast enough to fly through the verge, sidewalk, carpark and still have enough energy to nearly demolish a factory unit and roll the car.

my rental shares a fence with a podiatrist. One of his elderly clients put his car in D instead of R and drove through the fence. On the plus side it was asbestos so the whole 30m length was covered under his insurance. Its their policy to replace the whole fence if it is asbestos not just the damaged part. So I got a new fence for nothing.
