I cant reach the roof of the Forester!
Would a step ladder be the answer?!

A step ladder is overkill unless you already have one, Bunnings, Big W, Kmart etc all sell small steps and that is all you should need, alternatively you can use something like a microfiber wash mitt with an extension pole, Supercheap Auto have a myriad of those to choose from.

Lowering the car with coilovers might also be an over-reaction to the reaching-the-roof-for-cleaning issue.

Lowering via coilovers may be overkill. Better to just let the tyres down, clean roof and pump tyres back up. Problem solved :)

Be careful not to bang it into the side of the car, easy to do by mistake if you slip.

I think the extension pole is the way to go or I'm at risk of falling into the car!
I'm a bull in a China shop!
