Appears the rumours were correct - no turbo in the new Forester. Yanks are not happy. Will us Aussies get a turbo version? Doubt it. Very disappointed Subaru!

Time to start looking elsewhere for something with awd and fun.
Ze Germans may have something up their sleeve for us. Looking forward to tiguan R. The one with the 2.5 engine from Audi rs3 that does something stupid like 294kw. Or a merc. But all big dollars I'd say.
The Koreans have scrubbed the turbo from the Hyundai Tuscan turbo for a 2.4litre atmo engine.
Toyota hmmmm I'm not sure - Kluger at a pinch if it was free.
Which leaves the Chinese. Turbo 2l Haval 8 with 6 speed zf, 160kw and 324nm of torque. More cred than 2019 cvt refresh. Cmon Subaru surely you have something in the wings that will stand up.

Very disappointed with no 2019 XT model. I wonder if it will re-appear in 2020? This will likely be my last Subie if there is no XT in the next couple of years.

Some people are suggesting possibility of XT being available when new WRX is released. No date on that yet, but appears likely around 2021/22.

I'll give it another year to see what happens with a turbo for the new Foz. I was looking forward to the new SGP Forester (with turbo). Not happy Subaru!! They'll lose my business next year if there's no possibility of a more powerful Forester. Already fired a letter off to Subaru Aus MD, not that it will make any difference. Subaru need to know that after 15years of loyalty and 4 Subarus I'll regretfully have to move on. I'm sure I ain't on my own.

Count me as another very disappointed long term XT owner. I was intending to purchase the 2019 foz (XT of course) as soon as it became available later this year. No way am I settling for a normally aspirated model. Will seriously look at the Volkswagen Tiguan 162 Highline R.
