It is the area below the windscreen - at the back of your engine bay. To access: undo the nut holding each of your windscreen wiper arms on. There are about 5 pop clips on the black plastic cover. Remove these. Remove the black plastic cover (there are small covers on each end). 5 min job.

Think this might be the cause of the random musty smell with my aircon every so often when it gets really humid, the amount in there is pretty crazy :S

Could be. Have you checked your cabin filter lately? These can get very dirty very quickly.

Yeah I have, it significantly reduced it but still comes back from time to time. The air filter had all sorts of crap in it (ex Melbourne car, now up with me in the heat) such as leaves and seeds etc. I can guarantee the cowl has a bunch of crap under it.

I'll check tonight!

Discovered that the rear main seal seems to be leaking, about to remove the engine and fix it.

Got the car running after removing the engine yesterday, discovered that ATF is leaking, so now need to do the torque converter seal. That’s a job for another day.

"What have you done to your your wife's car today"

While hunting for a vacuum leak & working towards a PCV valve remove-n-clean, snapped one of the rubber arms on the "F" shaped rubber T-piece coming off the crank case for 09 models onwards (see loose item at centre of pic). It turns out that 9 years of hot oily sump gas can make rubber brittle.

Noting the "hell to pay" if she can't drive the car Monday morning, the only thing for it was to knock-together a "ghetto spec" replacement from my box of joiners and spare heater hose:-

Heat shielding courtesy of Coles aluminium foil:-

It drives fine with this setup and actually idles a bit smoother, leading to the convenient conclusion that it was probably a little bit vacuum-leaky before I even touched it.

I'll order an OEM F-piece on Monday because that heater hose and the Bunnings plastic 1/2" joiners and elbows won't last forever.

It's a shame she isn't interested in a catch can, because half the work is already done towards installing one...

Turns out the gear box was over filled, so in fact wasn’t a leaking seal as suspected. Drained the excess, and happy days! :drinks:

These complement the heavy duty sway bars nicely, no more straight line ducking and diving and no great loss of drive comfort.
Still yet to muck around with the damper settings but happy with wherever it is the Pedders guys set them.
